Ficus Burgundy Rubber Plant
We all know that quote from Romeo & Juliet that goes "A rose by any other name will still smell as sweet." Well, it's a similar situation with this plant — though it has no smell, it does have quite a list of names: Ficus Elastica, Rubber Tree, Ficus Burgundy, Burgundy Rubber Tree, etc etc. (Is that an exact analogy? No, but you get the point.)
To keep it simple, we combined all the words: Presenting the Ficus Burgundy Rubber Plant. Despite potentially coming off as a diva (who do you think you are, Prince?!), this plant is actually very easy to care for: water it when fully dry, give it plenty of bright in-direct light, and you'll be rewarded with thick, glossy, deep red leaves on a fast-growing stem.Â
Fun Fact: The Rubber Tree produces a latex sap that was once used in rubber production. Cool! But on the flip side, that sap is toxic, so it's best to keep this plant out of reach of curious pets and small children.
- Each plant is unique; size and shape fluctuate by season so all measurements are shown as a range
- Medium plant measures 6-11Â inches tall from bottom of the grow pot to the top of the foliage
- Large plant has multiple stems and measures 2-3 feet tall from bottom of the grow pot to the top of the foliage
- Arrives in a nursery grow pot nestled in your choice of planter
- Note: If you purchase a large plant with a planter, the planter will ship separately
